Tim Parrott

Director of DSC Environmental Services Ltd, Quality Manager

The business was originally formed by Tim Parrott in 2017.

Tim has worked within the asbestos consultancy industry for over 20 years. He started in bulk sample analysis and soil screening, later progressing to analytical, survey works, project management, technical manager, auditor and regional manager.

He achieved BOHS Certificate of Competency (Asbestos) in 2005. FAAM Licentiate in 2018.

He worked for the Institute of Occupational Medicine between 2003 and 2017. Between 2013 and 2017 he managed the Institute of Occupational Medicines London office and over saw a close team of 10 asbestos surveyors, analysts and technicians. He was responsible for the technical and quality output for the regional office in accordance with ISO 17020 and 17025.

Tim made important contributions with the development of retrospective risk assessments and the design, field data collection and technical input for published research on environmental airborne asbestos fibre levels. Tim has prepared documentation for use in court cases and has worked alongside various expert witnesses. Tim also has a particular interest in the emerging sector of asbestos contaminated land issues and remediation

Mark Hedges

Director, Technical manager

In 2018 DSC were delighted to welcome Mark Hedges to the business as a director and Technical manager.

Mark has worked within the asbestos industry for 15 years. He began his career at the Institute of Occupational Medicine in 2004. Initially appointed as a trainee surveyor he has progressed and been awarded the relevant BOHS qualifications and is now a fully qualified asbestos surveyor/analyst and Consultant. He has extensive experience working in the built environment including confined spaces and highly sensitive environments with high value client assets. He has official secrets act signatory and has MOD vetting.

Mark has covered technically challenging analytical and survey works. He has been producing technical specifications and acting in a project management role since 2014.

He has been project managing and overseeing a university contract conducting targeted asbestos refurbishment surveys, abatement specifications, analytical and supervision roles. Mark is an excellent communicator and listens to the clients’ requirements before offering a range of options with the pros and cons for each.
